Purpose

1. In the spirit of collegiality among the schools (colleges and universities) in the area and at the time, to promote collegiality and continue to schedule with one another.
2. For the purpose of promoting women's sports
3. In an effort to obtain more publicity for our women's sports programs. The local papers at the time did not give a lot of print to women's athletics.
4. To recognize outstanding women athletes at respective schools (we started with outstanding Senior Athlete then went to outstanding athlete in each sport.)
5. A dues structure was established of $25.00 per institution to cover the cost of the pewter plates awarded each athlete to be honored at the annual luncheons.
